Lagardére Travel Retail: Stepping up Efforts to Provide a More Sustainable Experience In-Store
Jan 25, 2023
Found in airports, railway stations, and major transport hubs across the world, Lagardére Travel Retail is a French travel retail brand selling a wide range of products to globetrotters, including Travel Essentials, Duty Free & Fashion and Foodservices. The Lagardére Travel Retail team were first to deploy ReceiptHero’s digital receipt solution to their UK and Ireland stores across 8 airports and 8 ferries. Brands operated within the market are: Discover, Aelia Duty Free, Tommy Hilfiger and the LEGO® Store.
With the UK and Ireland organisation to be the first to rollout self checkout at Luton Airport and be first to pilot the newest retail technology, it did not take long for Lagardére to see the opportunity of what ReceiptHero could offer.
The group is committed to playing a leading role in building a more sustainable future for travel retail. As part of its CSR strategy, PEPS (Planet. Ethics. People. Social), Lagardère Travel Retail aims to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, cooperating with partners across the eco-system.
“ReceiptHero allows us to support our CSR strategy by further reducing the environmental impact of our operations. At the same time it provides our customers with a smooth innovative checkout experience.” Liam Grundy, Commercial Business Director at Lagardère Travel Retail
A customer receiving a digital receipt from a purchase at one of Lagardère's stores will be able to use it for full refund and product exchange, can send feedback from their experience in-store and soon receive promotional offers for their purchase, utilizing ReceiptHero’s loyalty capabilities.
Enabling the service for Lagardère Travel Retail within such a short space became a reality due to our partner ReceiptHero and their connection into Worldline One Link. The fully digitalised receipt platform ensures that retailers can send cash register and card terminal receipts to customers’ in real time. The sustainable, paper-saving and innovative service runs fully automated in your payment program.
‘Similar to Lagardére Travel Retail, Worldline also has strong CSR objectives and a clear plan for hitting those targets by 2025. So iIt’s great to see a global merchant team up with ReceiptHero to deliver their digital receipt service. Worldline plays a key part in supporting this sustainable service via our One Link solution. We believe it will be a game changer for merchants looking to offer a paperless experience at the checkout for their customers ’. Marco Casagrande, Division Head Global Digital Services at Worldline.
The benefit to Lagardére’s Customers is that the checkout experience does not change once the customer has created a ReceiptHero account and added their payment card. They do not need to scan an additional card prior to payment, nor does the clerk need to ask for any identification such as email or phone number. Customers can receive their digital receipts in real-time from the point of purchase in the ReceiptHero app, available for both iOS and Android users.
